The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on 8th December 2021has released a consultation paper on “Ease of Doing Business in Telecom and Broadcasting Sector” to simplify various processes that the companies need in these verticals for doing their business.
This consultation paper seeks comments of the stakeholders on the various issues and difficulties being faced by them in commencement and operation of their businesses in telecom and broadcasting sectors in the country. Comments are invited to suggest measures for making the existing processes simple, business friendly and creating an ecosystem for attracting more and more investment in the sectors.
This consultation paper emphasises the need for a single-entry window, wherein an investor/entrepreneur should be able to apply for all the licences/ approvals without any further need to submit physical copies of the application and visit any department physically.
Further the single-window system may also be equipped with the latest technologies like a chatbot, automated call centre and ArtificialIntelligence (AI) based tracking, analysis, and response systems, so that the person willing to apply for licenses/approval can get answers to all their queries regarding the process, mechanism, policies, documents required, etc., instantly
The stakeholders can their written comments by 05th January 2022 and Counter comments, if any, may be submitted by 19th January 2022. The comments and counter-comments may be sent, preferably in electronic form on the email: dyadvbcs-1@trai.gov.in
