The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inked between the Indian National Space Promotion & Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe) and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) signifies a strategic alliance aimed at fostering the growth of the aerospace and defense (A&D) sector. TIDCO, as the driving force behind the Tamil Nadu Defense Industrial Corridor (TNDIC), envisions establishing a space industrial and propellants park spanning 2,000 acres, with plans for a Center of Excellence (COE) to support occupants. IN-SPACe, serving as the facilitator for non-government entities (NGEs) in India’s space sector, brings technical expertise to bolster the proposed COE. This collaboration seeks to attract space and allied sector industries to set up manufacturing facilities within the park, with a focus on launch manufacturing, strategic electronics, and space-grade component manufacturing. The exchange of the MoU was witnessed by key stakeholders, underscoring the significance of Tamil Nadu’s role in India’s space narrative. This Notification was published on 07.03.2024.
