The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission through notification dated 25th August, 2020 has issued the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions of Tariff) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2020. The amendment provides that the electricity generating company shall file an application for determination of supplementary tariff for the emission control system installed in coal or lignite based thermal generating station in accordance with the regulations not later than 60 days from the date of operation of such emission control system.
Un-discharged liability, if any, on account of emission control system shall be allowed as additional capital expenditure during the year it is discharged, subject to prudence check.
