Central Government Appoints Bid-Process Coordinators for Key Transmission Schemes

The Central Government, in accordance with its powers under sub-para 3.2 of Para 3 of the Guidelines issued under Section 63 of the Electricity Act, 2003, has appointed Bid-Process Coordinators (BPCs) for several vital Transmission Schemes. This appointment follows the recommendations of the 14th meeting of the National Committee on Transmission.

The appointed BPCs and the respective Transmission Schemes are as follows:

Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Potential Renewable Energy Zone in Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-IV (7 GW):

  • Part A: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited.
  • Part B: PFC Consulting Limited.
  • Part C: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited.
  • Part D: PFC Consulting Limited.
  • Part E2: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited.

Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Potential Renewable Energy Zone in Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-V (8 GW):

  • Part A: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited.
  • Part C: PFC Consulting Limited.

Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-2: 5.5 GW) (Jaisalmer/Barmer Complex):

  • Part A: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited.
  • Part B: PFC Consulting Limited.

It is worth noting that the Central Government had previously notified and modified the scope of the Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) in Rajasthan (20 GW) under Phase-III Part B1 for implementation under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB).
