The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum, Vidyut Ombudsman And Consumer Assistance Second Amendment Regulation, 2022.

The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission on 6^th May 2022, has published the Draft Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum, Vidyut Ombudsman and Consumer Assistance Second Amendment Regulation, 2022.

Through this amendment, clause 16.6 has been renumbered as 16.7 which specify “The Secretary shall assist the Vidyut Ombudsman in discharge of his functions and shall receive all representations under proper acknowledgement.

Further for the clause 16.6 the following has been inserted:

1. Budget: The Vidyut Ombudsman shall draw up the annual budget requirement for his establishment (for the ensuing financial year) and submit the same to the Commission before 15th March.
2.  The Commission, on receipt of the budget proposals shall assess and finalize the annual budget for the Vidyut Ombudsman’s establishment.
3.  After finalizing the annual budget, the Commission shall communicate the same to the Vidyut Ombudsman.
4.  The annual budget of the Vidyut Ombudsman shall be borne by the Distribution Licensees in such proportion as may be determined and in such manner as may be communicated by the Commission.”
