Warning against external elements posing as officers of Central Pollution Control Board

The Central Pollution Control Board has issued Public Notice to warn against external elements, falsely claiming/posing as officers/employees of Central Pollution Control Board. It has come to the notice of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) that some external elements, falsely claiming/posing as officers/employees of Central Pollution Control Board, are entering into Industries/Operations/construction sites etc. in the name of checking and monitoring pollution, and issuing instructions/pasting notices. The CPCB has directed all factories to ensure that:

  1. If any person/group of persons claiming to be officer/inspection team of the Central Pollution Control Board, enters premises of any industry, operations, or construction sites in relation to prevention and control of pollution, please ask them to show the authorized identity card issued by the Central Pollution Control Board.
  2. Seek information such as name and details of the in-charge of the Division of the Central Pollution Control Board, to which the person/group of persons claims to belong.
  3. Confirm with the Vigilance Officer of Central Pollution Control Board, while giving the details of the name, designation, identity card number, division of such person/group of person.
