Warehousing Regulatory Authority Notifies agriculture commodities to be stored registered warehouse.

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution vide its notification dated 4th February 2021 has notified the following commodities to be stored in a registered warehouse under the Warehouse (Development and Regulation) Act, 2007. 

The commodities include Milk and Dairy Products, Pasteurised Butter, Skimmed Milk Powder, Oats, Mustard oil cake –expressed, Neem oil, Neem seedn and Tapioca chips.

The commodities shall comply with the qualitative specifications or standards of the Bureau of Indian Standards or AGMARK or Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, Provided that in case, the Bureau of Indian Standards or the AGMARK or the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India standards do not exist for those commodities, quality standards laid down by the Central Government or the State Governments or the Government bodies shall be applicable.

Further for the commodities requiring chemical or allied laboratory analysis, all AGMARK laboratories, all accredited laboratories notified by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration and laboratories recognised by the Bureau of Indian Standards and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India are authorized for laboratory testing.
