The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has issued a Notification dated, 11th October, 2023 in regard to the waiver of late fee for the furnishing of the Annual Return for the year of 2023. This Notification is said to be enforced from 30th June, 2023.
It may be recalled that by a prior notification dated 3rd July 2023, registered persons having annual turnover of up to five crore rupees and registered persons having turnover above five crore rupees but up to twenty crore rupees have to pay a late fee of twenty five rupees per day or 0.02 per cent of the turnover, whichever is higher and fifty rupees per day or 0.02 per cent of the turnover, whichever is higher, respectively.
Additionally, the same notification also stated that if the late fee payable by any registered persons in regards to the furnishing of the annual report exceeded above ten thousand Rupees then the late fee would be waived off.
The deadline for furnishing the annual return with late fees mentioned above was earlier 30th June, 2023 which by the present notification has been extended to 31st August, 2023.
