The Ministry has released Revision XXXII of the Approved Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules (ALMM) List-I (Manufacturers and Models of Solar PV Modules). This revision incorporates the latest updates on approved solar PV modules based on minimum efficiency requirements and BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) compliance. An office memorandum was issued on December 26, 2024.
This update follows previous directives that only models meeting minimum efficiency standards (listed in the article) and possessing valid BIS registration can be included in the ALMM list.
The updated list was last published on December 2nd, 2024.
The ALMM enlistment validity is contingent upon a valid BIS registration, and modules without valid BIS registration will be delisted.
Details like Registration Number (R. No.) assigned by BIS are provided with each enlisted manufacturer/unit. Further BIS certification details (validity, model coverage etc.) can be accessed through the provided BIS website link.
This updated list ensures transparency and promotes the use of high-efficiency, BIS-certified solar modules in India’s solar energy sector. This, in turn, can lead to:
- Improved project performance and cost-effectiveness for solar power plants.
- Enhanced quality and reliability of solar installations.
- Increased confidence in the overall solar energy market.
