The State Government of Uttar Pradesh in its press release dated 24th May 2020 has proposed setting up of a migration commission to ensure comprehensive welfare package for the labourers/workers who have come back and also those who are working in other states.
The commission is set up to provide social security to the labourers/workers to look after not only the employment opportunity but to engage in skill mapping to help to get a suitable job. Under the provisions of this commission, the labourers/workers will also be insured, even if they are working elsewhere in the country.
Further, if any company from other states needs manpower from Uttar Pradesh they will need to get permission from the government so that the labour is not treated shabbily the way it was in some states during Corona pandemic times.
