Understanding Rotational Employment Allowance under Minimum Wage Act in Uttarakhand

Rotational employment, a prevalent practice in various sectors, often entails fluctuating allowances governed by labor laws. In Uttarakhand, regulations outline the framework for such allowances, specifically for unskilled workers in agriculture. This notification was published on 19/05/2024.

As per the regulations, from April 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024, the variable dearness allowance is determined based on the All India Consumer Price Index. For the period of July to December 2023, the allowance is calculated at the rate of 20 per point on the Consumer Price Index, with a benchmark set at 253 points. Signed by the Labor Commissioner of Uttarakhand, the regulations ensure compliance by both workers and employers. They serve to inform subordinate officers and relevant stakeholders, underscoring the importance of adhering to statutory regulations.
