The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notification regarding Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to be offered by UGC, CEC, IIM-B, NPTEL, and IGNOU on the SWAYAM Platform for January Semester 2023. This notification was issued on 3rd February, 2023.
Previously, UGC had notified 4 MOOCs by a notification dated 19th January, 2023. Of these, 3 MOOCs for the revival of India as a Global Centre of Buddhist Culture and Tourism and 1 MOOC on Community Engagement and Social Responsibility.
The UGC has now notified a list of MOOCs that are ready to be offered by the national coordinators (UGC, CEC, IIM-B, NPTEL, and IGNOU). These will be available on the SWAYAM Platform for January Semester 2023. These may also be viewed on the SWAYAM Portal.
Higher Education Institutions (HEI) are requested to get these MOOCs approved and adopted through their statutory bodies as per the University Grants Commission (Credit Framework for Online Learning Courses through Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) Regulations, 2021.
Students and learners are requested to enroll for these courses in large numbers and benefit from credit transfer from their concerned HEls.
