UGC invites online proposals for development of MOOCs at UG/PG level.

The University Grant commission on 12th April 2022, has invited online proposals for the development of MOOCs at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels for the SWAYAM platform, on the six pillars of India’s Arctic Policy (IAP). The proposals can only be submitted online at the link – swayam.infilbnet.ac.in before May 15, 2022.

UGC has requested all the Vice-Chancellors of Universities, Directors of IITs, and Principals of all colleges to submit proposals for the development of MOOCs at the UG/PG Level for the SWAYAM platform.

The Government of India released lndia’s Arctic Policy titled ‘lndia and the Arctic: building a partnership for Sustainable Development’ on March 17, 2022. lndia’s Arctic Policy would play an essential role in preparing the country for a future, where humankind’s biggest challenges, like climate change, can be addressed through collective will and effort.  Implementing India’s Arctic Policy will involve multiple stakeholders, including academia, research community, business and industry.

 It aims to promote inter-ministerial coordination in pursuit of India’s interests in the Arctic as well as to enhance understanding of the impact of climate change in the Arctic on India’s climate, economic, and energy security. The aim is to contribute better analysis, prediction, and coordinated policymaking on the implications of ice melting in the Arctic on India’s economic, military and strategic interests related to global shipping routes, energy security, and exploitation of mineral wealth.
