University Grants Commission on 23th June, 2023 has announced a vision a “DRUG FREE INDIA”. Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) proposes to encourage more and more citizens to take the ‘e-pledge’ against drug abuse on this occasion.
The United Nations General Assembly in a resolution passed in December, 1987, proclaimed 26th June of each year as the “International Day against Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking” and thus, every year on 26th June, steps taken by the Government against drug abuse and illicit trafficking are highlighted, apart from spreading awareness on the subject.
NCB has suggested organizing of various programs such as rallies, seminars, workshops, e-pledge campaigns etc. during “nasha mukt bharat pakhwada” on 26th June 2023″ and give wide publicity through media, including social media platforms, in order to realize the dream of “DRUG FREE INDIA”.
