TRAI extends time to receive comments on ‘Draft Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable) Services Interconnection (Addressable Systems) (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2022.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on 7th October 2022, has extended the last date for receiving written comments from the stakeholders on Draft Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable) Services Interconnection (Addressable Systems) (Fourth Amendment) Regulations 2022’ 21st October 2022.

The stakeholders have sought extension of time for sending their comments on the ‘Draft Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable) Services Interconnection (Addressable Systems) (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2022’. In view of this, it has been decided to extend the last date for submission of written comments up to 4th November 2022. Counter comments, if any, may also be submitted by 18th November, 2022. No further requests for extension would be considered.

The draft amendment notifies the scope and scheduling of Audit and Digital Rights Management (DRM) System Requirements.

The annual Audit caused by Distributor shall include the Audit to validate compliance with this Schedule and the Subscription Audit, as provided for in these regulations. The annual Audit as caused by Distributor under regulation 15 (1) shall be scheduled in such a manner that there is a gap of at-least six months between the audits of two consecutive calendar years. Further, there should not be a gap of more than 18 months between audits of two consecutive calendar years.
