The State Government of Bihar in its gazette Notification dated 12th December, 2019 has published Draft Bihar Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Rules, 2019 to amend the validity period of Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate. The issuance or renewal of license is made online.
Key Highlights from the Draft Amendment:
- The Authorised agency issuing PUC Certificate for Motor Vehicles, being more than one year old from its first Registration, can issue PUC Certificates valid for maximum of six months, Provided PUC Certificate for BS-IV or BS-VI Vehicles can be issued with validity of twelve (12) months.
- Any person, Service Canters of Authorized Motor Vehicle Companies, or any Registered Company can request online for establishment of PUC Centre with a purpose of testing emission of gases & smokes of Motor Vehicles followed by issuing PUC Certificate.
- Application for sanction and renewal of license shall now be made online to the Licensing Authority, in Form LTSA or LTSR respectively.
- Further, the fees payable to State Transport Commissioner has been revised.
