The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has issued an Office Memorandum on the Live-stock and Live-stock Products (Importation and Exportation) Bills, 2023.
The Ministry has invited comments or suggestions on this Bill from all stakeholders or importers or exporters. These shall be sent to the department only by email at gagan.garg@nic.in with copy to gn.singh13@nic.in
The comments or suggestions if any shall be forwarded by 17th June, 2023.
It may be recalled that currently the maintenance of bio-security of the country by preventing the ingress of exotic diseases through importation of live-stock and live-stock products is governed by the Live-stock Importation Act, 1898. Hence the present Bill is sought to be notified in order to further strengthen the country’s bio-security.
