The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide its notification dated 30th August 2022, has extended the public utility status on industries engaged in services of iron and steel , which is covered under items 7 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 for a period of six months with effect from 17th August 2022.
The Ministry has lastly declared the said industry to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months with effect from 17th February 2022 and of the opinion that public interest requires the extension of the public utility service status, the ministry has further extended for another period of 6 months starting from 17th August 2022.
