The Labour Ministry extends the public utility service status on establishments manufacturing or producing Nuclear Fuel and Components.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide its notification dated 19th March 2021 has extended the public utility service status on industrial establishments manufacturing or producing Nuclear Fuel and Components, Heavy Water and Allied Chemicals and Atomic Energy under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.

The Central Government has lastly declared the said industries to be public utility services for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months from 24th october 2020. However, the Ministry has now further extended the period for another six months with effect from 24th April 2021, in the public interest.
