The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide its notification dated 12th November 2020 has extended the public utility service status to services engaged in the copper mining industry under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.
The Ministry had earlier granted an extension to the copper mining industry for a period of six months, starting from 27th May 2020. This has now been extended for another six months with effect from 27th November 2020.
Previously, the GST rate was set at “half per cent” (0.5%). The recent amendment changes this to “0.25 per cent” (a quarter percent).
