The government of Bihar revises minimum rates of wages for 69 Schedule Employments.

The State Government of Bihar on 10th June 2022, has notified the Draft proposal to revise the minimum rates of wages fixed for certain categories of employees employed in the State of Bihar and has invited objection or suggestion from the public within a period of two months.

The Minimum wages has been revised on the suggestion made by the Minimum wage advisory board on 23.03.2022 by adding 15% additional after the 34% neutralization in the consumer price index, so that actual wages may increase.

The revised rate of wages for unskilled workers shall be Rs.366 per day and Rs.380 for Semi-skilled, Rs. 468 for Skilled and Rs. 566 for Highly-skilled are the new wage rate. Conversion of the monthly rate of wages into daily rates of wages and vice-versa shall be worked out by dividing the monthly rates by 26 and by multiplying the daily rates by 26

Further the above proposed rates of minimum wages includes the remuneration payable to the employee in respect of the day of rest in every period of seven days. Men and women workers shall get the same rates of wages for the same work or a similar nature.
