The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare vide its notification dated 29th September 2020 has published the Fertiliser (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) Third Amendment Order, 2020 in which it has directed the fertiliser testing laboratories to obtain the accreditation of the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories within a period of two years.
The Amendment is brought under clause 29 of Fertiliser (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) Order, 1985 in which a new sub-clause 3 has been inserted which states that every fertiliser testing laboratories specified or notified by the State Government under sub-clause (1) shall be required to obtain the accreditation of the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories within a period of two years from 28th day of September, 2020.
