The Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (Manner of Taking Samples and Form of Notice) Rules, 2021.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change on 13th October 2021 has published the Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (Manner of Taking Samples and Form of Notice) Rules, 2021 to better co-ordinate, research, identify, and resolve the problems related to air quality in the National Capital Region.

The Commission or the officer authorised by it in this behalf shall serve on the occupier or his agent or person in charge of the premises a notice then and there in Form I of his intention to have the sample analysed and the occupier or his agent or person in charge of the premises shall provide all necessary facilities for taking samples of air or emission from any chimney, flue or duct, plant or any other sources and outlets, stationary or mobile, as may be specified by the Commission or the officer authorised by it in this behalf.

Further the occupier or his agent or person in charge of the premises shall provide all necessary facilities for access to the sampling places as may be specified by the Commission or the officer authorised by it in this behalf.

The samples of air or gaseous emissions shall be taken either into an absorbing solution and / or in a suitable container and / or on a suitable filter / thimble and / or any other any other available technology:

Provided that depending upon the type of analysis to be conducted, or the circumstances of the case, the Commission or the officer authorised by it in this behalf may use any other suitable method or, equipment to collect samples.
