The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways vide its notification dated 6th November 2020 has published the Central Motor Vehicles (Eighteenth Amendment) Rules, 2020 to further amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
Through this amendment, it has made FASTag mandatory for all old four-wheelers purchased before December 2017, and for the old vehicles of M and N categories shall have Fastag by 1st January 2021.
This new rule shall come into effect from 1 April 2021.
