The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on 23rd March 2022 has notified the Central Motor Vehicles ( Draft Amendment) Rules, 2022 to further amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 and has invited Objections and suggestions from the public which shall be addressed to the Joint Secretary (MVL, Transport & Toll), Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Transport Bhawan, Parliament Street, New Delhi-110 001 or on the email: comments-morth@gov.in.
Through this amendment Form-6A which deals with International Driving permit has been changed into a booklet in format A6, The cover shall be grey and the inside pages white. The Handwritten or typed entries made on the permit shall be in Latin characters or in English cursive script. As per rule 16(4) Every International Driving Pemit issued by a licensing authority shall be in Form 6- A and shall be valid for a period of not more than one year from the date of issue, as the case may be, or till the validity of the driving licence, whichever is earlier.
