The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Qualification and procedure of Accredited Energy Auditors and Energy Auditors (Building) and Maintenance of their List) Regulations, 2021.

The Bureau of Energy Efficiency on 18th June 2021 has published the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Qualification and procedure of Accredited Energy Auditors and Energy Auditors (Building) and Maintenance of their List) Regulations, 2021 and has invited objection/suggestions from the public which shall be addressed to the Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, 4th Floor, Sewa Bhawan, R.K. Puram, Sector-1, New Delhi – 110066 and may be sent at the e-mail address of the Bureau at dg-bee@nic.in within 30 days.

An energy auditor shall be qualified to become an accredited energy auditor or Accredited Energy Auditor (Building) if, he, has valid certificate for Energy Auditor or Energy Auditor (Building) under regulation 8 of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Certification Procedures for Energy Auditors, Energy Auditor (Building) and Energy Managers) Regulations, 2020 and has an experience of 5 years in energy audit out of which at least three years’ shall be in any of the Energy Intensive Industries and Other Establishment.

The Bureau shall maintain a register containing a list of accredited energy auditors and Energy Auditor (Building) in Form III.

The accredited energy auditor or Energy Auditor (Building) or a firm of such accredited energy auditor or Energy Auditor (Building)shall, before opening an office in the trade name or firm name, apply to the Bureau for approval to use the trade name or the firm name and on such approval, the Bureau shall maintain the register of offices and firms of accredited energy auditors and Energy Auditor (Building)in Form IV.
