The Aircraft (Second Amendment) Rules, 2022.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation on 1st April 2022 has published the Aircraft (Second Amendment) Rules, 2022 to further amend the Aircraft Rules, 1937. Through this amendment, the definition for the term “Manufacture” has been inserted as follows:

“Manufacture” means the performance of tasks that involve assembly or production of aircraft, engine, propeller or associated parts and appliances in conformity with its applicable design including prototype.

Further under section k and N in schedule 2 which deals with commercial pilot’s licence (helicopter) and airport transport pilots licence (helicopter) the following clause 5A (B) has been subitituted:

The proficiency check carried out shall be valid for a period of twelve months from the date of the check in case of pilot conducting Visual Flight Rules operations and shall be renewed for a further period of twelve months at a time.

The proficiency check shall be valid for a period of six months from the date of the check in case of pilot conducting Instrument Flight Rules operations and shall be renewed for a further period of six months at a time. However The Pilot-in-Command or Co-pilot who has successfully carried out instrument rating flying test or renewal check, as the case may be, specified under Section “P”shall be considered to have undergone proficiency check which shall be valid for a period of six months.”
