The Ministry of commerce and industry vide its Gazette notification dated 18th May 2020 has notified the Air Conditioner and its related Parts, Hermetic Compressor and Temperature Sensing Controls (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2020 which shall be in force from 1st January 2021.
The goods or articles like room air conditioners, ducted and package air conditioners, hermetic compressor, temperature sensing control devices shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard and shall bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau as per Scheme I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standard (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
However, this order shall not be applicable to goods or articles meant for export.
