Telangana State Pollution Control Board Amendment and inspection mandates

Telangana State Pollution Control Board on 6 May, 2019 as a part of the initiative to ease the way of doing business, amends the central inspection framework for surprise inspections to limit the scope of inspection to the Checklist prescribed in the Circular.

The Telengana PCB has already implemented computerised inspections allocation for carrying out inspection as per Water and Air Pollution Control Acts.

It has now been clarified by the Telengana PCB that all the officers would be required to inspect establishments in accordance with the allocation and the inspection would be limited to the checklist provided in Annexure-II to the Circular.

In another circular released on the same date, the Board mandated that surprise inspections of establishments in light of complaint received by the Board can only be taken up after specific permission from the Head of Department (Member Secretary).

The concerned inspectors shall ensure online submission of inspection report to the Board within 48 hours of inspection.
