New Lab Notified to Test Sports Nutrition Products
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has notified another laboratory for testing ‘Food for Sportsperson’ products for prohibited substances declared by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The newly notified lab is the Analytical Testing Laboratory at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Balanagar, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Telangana.
FSSAI Notifies Laboratory for Testing of Prohibited Substances in Sports Supplements
FSSAI has accredited CERANS, located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, to conduct tests for prohibited substances in food for sportsperson under the discipline of ‘Chemical-Nutritional Supplement’. Enforcement authorities can now utilize CERANS for testing ‘Food for Sportsperson’ products to ensure they are free from WADA-prohibited substances.
The Khelo India Youth Games to be Conducted by Tamil Nadu Government
A multi-sport event in India, under the support of the Union Government that aims to promote sports and fitness among the country’s youth. Khelo India Youth Games is scheduled to be held in four cities (Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai and Trichy) .
