PCI requests Details of Fee Structures from Pharmacy Institutions
All pharmacy institutions/ universities are requested to provide the fee structures for pharmacy courses via google form by 4th September, 2023. This circular was issued on 24th August, 2023.
PCI requests details of Specified M. Pharm. Candidates
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has requested the details of M. Pharm. Candidates who have passed in various specialisations after 2014 which are neither covered under Appendix A of the Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm.) Course Regulations, 2014 nor in the approved equivalence of specialisations/ subjects of M. Pharm. This circular was dated 4th August, 2023.
PCI issues Circular on Admission in Pharmacy Courses
PCI also emphasises that the admission qualification (10+2 science academic stream with physics, chemistry, mathematics or biology) to various pharmacy courses is mandatory in nature. Hence, verification of this basic qualification (10+2) is also mandatory. PCI has directed that all admission making authorities shall strictly verify the 10+2 documents of candidates before taking admission in any Pharmacy Courses.
PCI opens Pharmacy Portal for Consideration of Approval for 2023-2024 Academic Session
The PCI states that those institutions that had applied by paying PERC charges for academic year 2023- 2024 have been considered for extension of approval for the academic year 2023-2024. The institutions that haven not applied and not paid the PERC charges will not be considered for extension of approval.
PCI clarifies on the Appeal Process on the new DIGI-PHARMed Portal
The PCI has introduced an appeal option on the portal. If any course of the institution has been awarded the decision of ‘not approved’ or ‘rejected’, they can avail of the appeal option.
PCI provides Another Opportunity for New Institutions to Register on PCI Portal
The PCI has provided another opportunity for new institutions to register on PCI Portal. This registration will be open from 18th to 24th July, 2023. These applicants will have to pay a one-time non-refundable registration fee amounting to Rs. 10,000 + GST.
PCI lays down Procedure to download Decision Letter from new DIGI-PHARMed Portal
The circular states that the PCI has developed a new portal called DIGI-PHARMed Portal. The link to the portal is available on the PCI website. The PCI will also send login credentials to all pharmacy institutions on their registered email IDs.
PCI has been granted extension of time for completion of approval and appeal process 2023-2024 for existing institutions
The notification states that the Supreme Court has permitted an extension in the last date for completion of the approval process of existing institutions. This last date is now fixed as 30th August, 2023. Moreover, the last date provided for completion of appeal process for existing institutions for 2023-2024 has been provided up to 30th September, 2023.
PCI requests New Institutions to Register on PCI Portal
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has requested new institutions to register on PCI Portal. This request applies to all new institutions who had applied to the PCI for the first time for academic session 2023-2024.
PCI declares that the Pharmacy Profession does not belong to a Para-Medical Group
The PCI has clarified that the pharmacy profession does not come under the para-medical course. Pharmacy education should not be linked with para-medical education. Pharmacy is an independent profession and shall not be clubbed with para-medical.
