PCI to Implement Aadhaar Authentication in DIGI-PHARMed Portal
The PCI envisions the implementation of Aadhaar authentication in its DIGI-PHARMed Portal. This will propel total digitalization of registration or enrollment services. It will also ensure authentication of end users such as pharmacists, faculties, students and pharmacy institutions. It will also bolster user satisfaction , promote ease of doing business, processing of registration applications. Ultimately, the PCI is of the opinion, that the new process will enhance productivity and transparency in administrative functioning.
NBEMS Shows Gratitude to PCI & Pharmacy Institutions for Participation in CPR Program
The NBEMS has expressed its thanks to the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and the pharmacy institutions for playing their part in ensuring the success of the program. The letter states that the CPR program witnessed the participation of over 5000 institutions and 20 lakh individuals.
Pharmacy Council of India Designated as Aadhaar Authentication Authority
PCI can utilize Aadhaar authentication to verify the identities of officials, faculty, and students accessing its portal. The PCI can also employ Aadhaar authentication for capturing attendance of faculty members. This can be achieved through biometric verification using Yes/No responses or/and e-KYC authentication facilities.
Clarification on CPR Awareness Programme for Pharmacy Institutions
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has issued a clarification mandating that pharmacy institutions participate in the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Awareness Programme. Pharmacy Institutions Encouraged to Participate in CPR Awareness Programme
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) is encouraging all pharmacy institutions to participate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Awareness Programme. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will be organising this programme. It will be held on December 6, 2023 at 9:30 am all over the country.
PCI directs State Councils to Implement Jan Vishwas Act, 2023
The Jan Vishwas Act has introduced a provision for adjudication of penalties under the Pharmacy Act. The provision empowers the central government to authorise the President of the State Council, where the alleged violation is committed, to be the adjudicating officer for holding an inquiry and impose penalty.
PCI extends deadline for completion of Approval and Appeal Process
The last date for completion of the approval process for existing and new institutions is fixed as up to 31st October, 2023. Furthermore, the last date for completion of the appeals and compliance process is fixed as 30th November, 2023. Additionally, the period for counselling shall stand extended up to 31st December, 2023.

Therefore, the last date for completion of the approval process for existing institutions has now been fixed as 31st October, 2023. Furthermore, the last date for completion of the appeal process has now been fixed as 30th November, 2023.
