Fake/Forged Letter of Permission to GSL Medical College

National Medical Commission Takes Steps to Prevent Fake Permissions for Medical Colleges
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has taken action in response to reports of fake Letter of Permission (LoP) and Continuation of Recognition (CoR) being issued to medical colleges in the name of the President or Members of the Boards. To curb such fraudulent activities, the NMC has introduced a new protocol for issuing LoPs, CoRs, and Appeal orders, which will now bear the digital signature of the concerned Member or President.

The NMC clarifies that the National Medical Commission Registered Medical Practitioner (Professional Conduct) Regulations, 2023, shall not be operative and effective till further Gazette Notification on the subject by the National Medical Commission.
Payment of Stipends to PG Medical Students
The PGMEB has reiterated that as per the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulation, 2000, ‘The Post Graduate students of the institutions which are located in various States / Union Territories shall be paid remuneration at par with the remuneration being paid to the Post Graduate students of State Government medical institutions / Central Government Medical Institutions, in the State/Union Territory in which the institution is located.’
Process to Streamline Registration to Foreign Medical Practitioners
In order to streamline the process of timely grant of temporary registration to foreign medical practitioners the registered hospital/ medical college/ institute should upload on theor official website the details of fellowship programmes being run by them. They must also provide the NMC with additional specified information relating to course content, duration, etc.
