NMC publishes FAQs on UG MSR 2023

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to provide clarity on the “Guidelines for Establishment of New Medical Institutions, Starting of New Medical Courses, Increase of Seats for Existing Courses, and Assessment and Rating Regulations for Undergraduate Medical Education, 2023 (UG-MSR 2023).” These FAQs were published on 13th September, 2023.

Fake/Forged Letter of Permission to GSL Medical College

The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has recently uncovered a case of forgery involving a letter issued to GSL Medical College in Rajahmundry. The forged letter falsely claimed an increase in seats for MD-Radio Diagnosis from 10 to 24 for the academic year 2023-24.

National Medical Commission Takes Steps to Prevent Fake Permissions for Medical Colleges

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has taken action in response to reports of fake Letter of Permission (LoP) and Continuation of Recognition (CoR) being issued to medical colleges in the name of the President or Members of the Boards. To curb such fraudulent activities, the NMC has introduced a new protocol for issuing LoPs, CoRs, and Appeal orders, which will now bear the digital signature of the concerned Member or President.

NMC warns against Forged Letters Misleading Medical Colleges

The Directorate of Medical Education in states and union territories (UTs) across the country has been formally requested to allocate seats for Under Graduate-MBBS and Post Graduate-Broad Specialty and Super Specialty programs for the academic year 2023-24 based solely on the information available on the official website of the National Medical Commission.
