Surrogacy (Regulation) Amendment Rules, 2023
MoHFW has revised the qualifications of the andrologist in surrogacy clinics. The amendment now also permits an andrologist to qualify under the Rules if they possess an MS General Surgery or FNB/MCh/DM in reproductive medicine. Prior to this amendment, only a person possessing a Mch or DNB in Urology with special training in Diagnosing and Treating Male infertility was classified as an andrologist for the purposes of surrogacy.

The press release states that the co-WIN portal is completely safe with adequate safeguards for data privacy. Furthermore, security measures are in place on Co-WIN portal, with Web Application Firewall, Anti-DDoS, SSL/TLS, regular vulnerability assessment, Identity & Access Management etc.
Surrogacy (Regulation) Amendment Rules, 2023
The Amendment Rules include a new clause in the Surrogacy Rules. The addition of this clause aims to define the term “Couple of Indian Origin” in the context of surrogacy arrangements in India.
Medical Devices (Amendment) Rules, 2023
These Rules aim to enhance the regulatory framework governing medical devices in the country. They provide for the establishment and designation of State Medical Devices Testing Laboratories, further empowering the testing and evaluation of medical devices.
