The Centre has taken punitive actions in response to West Bengal choosing blue and white for the building colors, and the title “Susasthya Kendra” in the regional language alongside “Health & Wellness Centre” in English in contravention to the branding guidelines for AB-HWCs. The Centre has also raised concerns over West Bengal’s lack of participation in key government consultations and programs.
Pharmacy Council of India Designated as Aadhaar Authentication Authority
PCI can utilize Aadhaar authentication to verify the identities of officials, faculty, and students accessing its portal. The PCI can also employ Aadhaar authentication for capturing attendance of faculty members. This can be achieved through biometric verification using Yes/No responses or/and e-KYC authentication facilities.

Revisions in Ratio of MBBS Seats Deferred for Another Year
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) is re-examining the ratio of 100 MBBS seats for 10 lakh population in that state/ U.T. Hence, NMC has decided that this ratio shall be deferred until the academic year 2025-26.

This notice was issued on 14th October, 2023. Furthermore, the last date for admission to BDS and B.Sc. Nursing Courses has been fixed as 31st October, 2023 for the academic year 2023.

CDSCO permits applicants of Class C & D Medical Device Licences to continue Operations
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has issued a circular clarifying that an existing manufacturer or importer of Class C or Class D medical devices can continue to import/ manufacture these devices till 12th April, 2024. This circular has been issued with the view to limit the disruption to business continuity.
