Govt. of Delhi modifies Conditions for Establishing New Physiotherapy Courses
The amendment states that performance guarantee, furnished by institutions desirous of starting a new or higher course, must be valid for 5 years and be renewable after the expiry of this period. Additionally, renewal of permission granted for increase in the admission capacity for Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) or Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) courses shall be subject to and revalidation, if necessary, of the performance bank guarantee every five years till continuation of course.
Union Health Secretary Stresses Importance of “One Health” Approach to Combat Zoonotic Diseases
During the conclave, the Union Health Secretary highlighted the growing concern of zoonotic diseases, which affect both humans and animal health, and the need for a comprehensive approach to address this issue. 75% of newly emerging infectious diseases in the last three decades were said to be zoonotic in nature.
Department of Health Research mandates Registration of Ethics Committees for Medical and Health Research
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has announced that the Department of Health Research (DHR) has informed that all Ethics Committees associated with Medical and Health Research involving human participants must be registered with the department. The NMC has therefore directed that all medical colleges and postgraduate institutes to promptly initiate the registration process for their respective Ethics Committees.
