The National Medical Commission (NMC) is urging all aspiring Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) to apply online for their Eligibility Certificate. The NMC has provided this final opportunity to apply for the Eligibility Certificate. Applications will not be accepted after November 4, 2024.
Clarification Issued for Internship Eligibility of Foreign Medical Graduates
The NMC has clarified that students who passed an exam equivalent to India’s MBBS degree are eligible for a one-year internship, even if they took online classes in lieu of some physical classes, provided they subsequently completed sufficient compensatory onsite classes.
Final Edit Window For Applicants Of NEET – PG 2024 & FMGE June 2024
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has provided NEET-PG 2024 and FMGE June 2024 applicants a final opportunity to rectify the missing or incorrect images in their application forms. The deadline for this correction window is June 10, 2024 (until 11:55 PM).
NMC Will No Longer Accept Compensatory Certificates For The Online Classes
To ensure patient safety and maintain high standards in medical care, the UGMEB has will no longer accept Compensation Certificates claiming offline training to compensate for online medical courses. FMGs who completed online coursework must follow the updated internship pathway.
Foreign Medical Graduates Get Two-Year Extension for Internship in India
NMC received requests from medical councils and FMGs citing challenges in securing internship placements. Therefore, the NMC has decided to extend the deadline for FMGs to complete their internships. The extended deadline for FMGs is now fixed for May 2026.
Applications Invited For Foreign Medical Graduate Examination June 2024
The exam allows Indian citizens or Overseas Citizens of India with medical degrees from abroad to practice medicine in India upon passing. Applications can only be submitted online through the NBEMS website from April 29th, 2024 (1:00 PM onwards) to May 20th, 2024 (until 11:55 PM).
