The National Medical Commission (NMC) has published a notice regarding the ongoing legal proceedings concerning additional medical seats at JIET Medical College & Hospital, Jodhpur. The matter stems from Special Leave Petition filed by the against an order dated December 11, 2024, issued by the Rajasthan High Court’s Division Bench.
In its latest order dated March 3, 2025, the Supreme Court has directed that a public notice be issued to inform students who were admitted against the additional 50 seats beyond the permitted intake at JIET Medical College & Hospital. The Court’s directive emphasizes that these admissions are subject to the final outcome of the pending SLP.
The case traces back to legal disputes initiated by JIET Medical College & Hospital and Tirupati Balaji Educational Trust against regulatory decisions concerning medical admissions. The Rajasthan High Court had previously ruled on the matter, prompting the NMC to seek redress before the Supreme Court.
