Substandard Food Items: DFDA and Goa Government Imposes Fines on Culprits for Violations

The Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration (DFDA) has reported that the Additional District Magistrate cum Adjudication Officer has resolved two Adjudication cases filed by Food Safety Officers of DFDA, namely Smt. Nousin Saba S. Mulla and Shri. Lenin D’Sa, against Food Business Operators for producing and vending Substandard Food items – Mix Shev and Jaggery. They have levied fines for breaching provisions under the Food Safety and State Standard Act, 2006. The particulars of Food Business Operators found manufacturing and selling Sub-Standard Food Items by incorporating non-permitted synthetic food colorants, along with the penalties imposed. This Notification was published on 12.03.2024.
