State Government of Tamil Nadu exempts certain activities, services from COVID-19 lockdown

The Revenue and Disaster Management Department of Tamil Nadu in its order dated 23rd April 2020 has decided to relax the restrictions for certain activities and services within the state.

The Government has allowed the operation of homes for children, disabled, senior citizens, women, mentally challenged and care givers of senior citizens residing in their homes.

Further all facilities in the supply chain of essential goods, whether manufacturing, wholesale or retail of such goods through local stores, large brick and mortar stores or e-commerce companies, including food processing units such as bread factories, milk processing plants, flour mills, dal mills, etc., located in urban areas are  exempted from lockdown restrictions.

Facilities for export/import, such as pack houses, inspection and treatment facilities for seeds and horticulture produce and research establishments dealing with agriculture and horticulture activities are also exempted from the lockdown restrictions.
