Stakeholder Input Sought On Updates In Solar Water Pumping System Standards

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is inviting suggestions from stakeholders on proposed updates to standards and specifications of solar water pumping systems used under the PM KUSUM scheme. This notice was dated October 1, 2024.

The PM KUSUM scheme aims to promote the use of solar energy for irrigation by providing subsidies for installing solar water pumping systems. The MNRE established initial standards and specifications for these systems in March 2023.

Recognizing innovation in solar technology, the MNRE is seeking stakeholder input to revise these standards. The goal is to incorporate the latest advancements and ensure the efficiency and performance of solar water pumping systems used in the PM KUSUM scheme.

Specific Areas for Update

  1. Specifications of Solar Water Pumping Systems with Positive Displacement Pump and
  2. Specifications for SPV Water Pumping System with Micropumps

Stakeholders, including manufacturers, farmers, and industry experts, are encouraged to submit their suggestions for updating these standards. The MNRE provides a specific format for submitting proposals as follows:
