Securities Exchange Board of India vide notification dated 7th April 2020 has amended SEBI (Foreign Portfolio Investors) Regulation 2019.
The regulation provides the “Entities from the Financial Action Task Force” as a separate category under which application for registration as Foreign Portfolio Investor(FPI) can be submitted. Entity from any country specified by the Central Government by an order or by way of an agreement or treaty with other sovereign Governments,‖can also apply under this category now.
The notification shall come into force as on the date of publication.
