SEBI has issued a Consultation paper on Introduction of New Asset Class/ Product Category. The objective of this consultation paper is to solicit comments on the proposed introduction of new asset class/ product category (hereinafter referred to as ‘New Asset Class’)aimed at bridging the gap between Mutual Funds and Portfolio Management Services (hereinafter referred to as ‘PMS’)in terms of flexibility in portfolio construction.
The proposed New Asset Class seeks to provide investors with a regulated investment product featuring higher risk-taking capabilities and a higher ticket size, aimed at curbing the proliferation of unregistered and unauthorized investment products.
The comments/ suggestions should be submitted latest by August 06, 2024.
