The Government of Karnataka has approved a proposal from the Director General of Police and the Director General of the Fire and Emergency Services Department to increase non-tax income rates in response to inflation. The revision, effective March 30, 2024, aims to align the rates with the current cost inflation index. This notification was published on July 15, 2024.
Key adjustments include fees for advisory letters to educational institutions and residential and commercial buildings. Notably, the fee for issuing no-objection certificates for educational institutions operating outside multi-story buildings will now be set at ₹26,500. Additionally, a new fee structure proposes ₹5,000 for residential buildings every two years, while commercial establishments will incur an annual charge of ₹10,000. These updates enhance the clarity and structure of fee levies related to fire safety advisories and compliance across urban and rural areas.
