Removal of Licensing Requirements, Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions on Specified Foodstuffs (First Amendment) Order, 2024

Department of Consumer Affairs on 21st June, 2024 has issued the Removal of Licensing Requirements, Stock Limits and Movement Restrictions on Specified Foodstuffs (First Amendment) Order, 2024. Pulses namely Tur and Chana, including Kabuli Chana, shall have, for a period up to 30th September, 2024, following stock limits for all States and Union Territories:

1. Wholesaler: 200 MT for each of the pulse;
2. Retailer: 5 MT for each of the pulse;
3. Big chain retailers: 5 MT for each of the pulse at each retail outlet and 200 MT at depot for each of the pulse;
4. Miller: Last 3 months production or 25% of annual installed capacity, whichever is higher;
5. Importer: Not to hold imported stock beyond 45 days from the date of custom clearance.
