The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has clarified that the interim arrangement of release of imported consignments of producers of 106 EEE items may be extended to only those producers who have submitted their application for registration on the EPR Portal. A notice to this effect was issued on 30th June, 2023.
It may be recalled that release of imported consignments of producers as defined in E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 necessitated the following:
- submission of an undertaking
- submission of an acknowledgement of application made on the CPCB’s EPR Portal
- copy of EPRA whose validity is over 30th June, 2023
Now, therefore, by this present notice, the CPCB has stated that release of imported consignments of producers of all 106 EEE items will be permitted only to those producers who have submitted their application for registration on the EPR Portal.
This interim arrangement shall be effective till 31st August, 2023.
