The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has re-operationalized certain provisions pertaining to standards of provisions of Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK) in the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2022. The present notification was issued on 11th April, 2023.
This notification re-operationalises the FSSAI direction dated 23rd June, 2022, detailing the provisions for FRK, vitamin and mineral premix for FRK and rice flour used for making FRK with effect from 23rd December, 2022.
However, provisions relating to yeast, mould count, aerobic plate count of rice flour for preparation of FRK stands withdrawn from 11th April, 2023.
