The Reserve Bank of India on 05.05.2020 has issued clarifications by publishing the FAQ and answers on Cash Withdrawal Facility at Point of Sale (PoS) Terminals. The cardholders can withdraw cash up to ₹2,000/- per day per card in Tier III to VI centres and ₹1,000/- from Tier I and II centres per day per card using their debit cards and open system prepaid cards but credit cards cannot be used.
The facility is made available at merchant establishments designated by the acquirer banks whether the card issuer and the acquiring bank are same or not.
