Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) has issued guidelines on the utilisation of stone slurry to in gainful and productive manner. This notice was issued on 14th March, 2023.
The SPCB observes that during cutting and polishing of stone lumps to produce tiles, slurry is generated which is either to be used for gainful purposes or disposed at earmarked sites. However if not disposed in the prescribed manner, it could result in air pollution in nearby areas.
The SPCB has explored gainful and productive means of utilisation of stone slurry. These include the use of marble slurry in cement, brick or tile manufacturing, etc.
